Questions & Answers

STA is an NGO working to deliver sustainable WASH projects (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) in local communities. Our goal is to create lasting solutions through transparency, collaboration, and the active involvement of our members – whom we call “changemakers.

When you become a member, you contribute a fixed monthly amount that helps fund our projects. As a member, you gain voting rights, access to our financial overview, and the ability to follow how your contributions make a real difference.

Yes, membership can be seen as a form of Sadaqah Jariyah (ongoing charity). All our projects fall under Sadaqah Jariyah, such as building wells and providing lasting community support. You can also become a member on behalf of a deceased relative or friend, allowing them to receive ongoing rewards for the good that comes from your contribution. Just remember to make a sincere intention (niyyah) that the membership is for them, as this is essential for the reward to reach them.

No, in addition to building wells, we also construct toilets for vulnerable women and children in internal displacement camps. Many avoid using existing facilities at night due to distance and darkness, which increases the risk of sexual violence. By building safe and accessible toilets closer to where they live, we reduce that risk and help protect their health, dignity, and safety. All of our work falls under Sadaqah Jariyah – including clean water, safe toilets, hygiene education, school construction, reusable hygiene kits, tree planting, solar energy, and other long-term projects that continue to benefit communities for years to come.

Our ledger is an open financial overview where members can see exactly how funds are used. It ensures full transparency and shows how your support directly helps communities on the ground.

You can track your impact through our portfolio, where we share updates on projects, including before/after photos and videos, as well as details on how the funds have been used.

What makes STA unique is that we are a member-based organisation. When you join, you become part of a community of changemakers who not only contribute but also help decide which projects to support.

Only members have voting rights and can help decide which initiatives we prioritise. Your membership also gives you access to our open ledger, where you can follow how funds are used. This ensures full transparency and member involvement in everything we do.

Yes, you can cancel your membership at any time through your profile. Your contribution will stop from the next billing cycle.
